Biographical Information[edit]

Steve Mendiola Jr. was on the Federated States of Micronesia national team in the 2025 Pacific Mini-Games. Presumably, he was related to teammates Tayshaun Mendiola and Fritz Mendiola Jr. He was their shortstop in all five games. The team had not appeared in a Pacific Games or Mini-Games for 20 years, since the 2005 South Pacific Mini-Games. That made him their first shortstop in 20 years as well as their first batter when he led off against host and champion Palau's Ray Rumong. He drew a walk then scored their first run in 20 years when he doubled in the third and was driven in by JT Loyola. Steve hit .313/.400/.375 for the Mini-Games, fielding .810. He tied Seth Seklii for the most assists (11), but also tied Nokki Saralu for the most errors (4). He tied for 6th in hits (5). [1]
