Biographical Information[edit]

Takuya Hiruma has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Hiruma represented Japan in the 2018 BFA U-18 Baseball Championship and 2022 Haarlem Baseball Week. In the latter event, the corner outfielder was 3-for-11 but with 6 walks, a HBP, two runs and four RBI. His 4th-inning hit off Curacao's Nelmerson Angela drove in the lone run of the opener and his bases-loaded walk from Pavel Hernandez drove in the winner against Cuba. He tied Yohandy Morales and Jacob Gonzalez for 3rd in the tourney in RBI, while he tied Dylan Crews for the walk lead. He tied Juremi Profar for second in OBP, behind Vito Friscia. He was drafted by the Seibu Lions in the first round of the 2022 NPB draft; the scout was Jun Takeshita. His first NPB at-bat, he struck out against Takahiro Norimoto and his first hit was off Wataru Karashima. His first dinger came against Takahisa Hayakawa. He hit .232/.280/.293 in 56 games in his rookie year, and he had a .220/.266/.280 batting line in 2024.
