Steve Moses reached AAA; his brother John Moses took it a step further, getting to the majors.

Moses was picked by the Minnesota Twins in the third round of the 1982 January draft but did not sign. In the 1983 amateur draft, Steve was picked by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 9th round.

Moses began his professional career with the 1983 Bend Phillies, hitting .319/.383/.387 and stealing 15 bases in 19 tries. He was sixth in the Northwest League in average, right ahead of Terry Steinbach. He also had 7 outfield assists, tying for fourth in the NWL.

In 1984, the Californian hit .300/.370/.339 for the Reading Phillies. He tied for 8th in the Eastern League in average. His 13 assists tied for third among the league's outfielders. Steve made it to AAA with the 1985 Portland Beavers and batted .264/~.315/.346. His brother made the PCL's All-Star outfield that year, as the two played for rival squads.

Moses was 11 for 39 with two doubles and five walks for Reading in 1986 and hit .250/~.308/.323 for Portland. In 1987, he moved to the Cleveland Indians system and hit .285/~.366/.346 with 17 steals for the Williamsport Bills to end his career.
