Biographical Information

Shogo Makita was drafted by the Orix BlueWave in the 11th round of the 2001 NPB draft, and he was 4-for-23 in 2002. He only got 4 at-bats in 2003, and he went 1-for-13 in 2004. The BlueWave then merged with the Kintetsu Buffaloes, and Makita was assigned to the Orix Buffaloes. He hit .282/.341/.385 in 18 games in 2005, and his batting line was .242/.265/.303 in 2006. Makita only went 7-for-24 in 2007, and he had a 7-for-28 record in 2008 then he announced his retirement. He later became a scout for Orix, signing Ken Akama, Shunta Goto, Kaito Iriyama, Ryo Nishimura, Satoshi Oyama, Kohei Suzuki, Daiki Tajima, Shohei Tsukahara, Masahiro Nishino, Kenya Wakatsuki and Keita Nakagawa.
