Biographical Information

Ryo Nishimura was drafted by the Orix Buffaloes in the 5th round of the 2017 NPB draft; the scout was Shogo Makita. He played 31 games with a .193/.217/.307 batting line in 2018, and he hit .265/.294/.449 in 2019 after Orix turned him into an outfielder (he had been a catcher previously). Nishimura struggled as his batting line fell to .161/.268/.242 in 2020, then he batted .214/.267/.262 in 2021. He slumped to .133/.152/.289 in 2022, and he announced his retirement.

Overall, Nishimura hit .192/.239/.308 with 55 hits in 5 seasons in NPB.
