Biographical Information[edit]
Shingo Ishikawa has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Ishikawa was drafted by the Nippon Ham Fighters in the 3rd round of the 2011 NPB draft, and he spent his first two seasons in the NPB Farm Leagues. He hit .229/.281/.301 in 44 games in 2014, and he played 43 games with a .207/.289/.345 batting line in 2015. Ishikawa went 2-for-27 in 2016, and the Fighters traded him with Mitsuo Yoshikawa to the Yomiuri Giants for Taishi Ota and Katsuhiko Kumon. Ishikawa got a starting outfield spot when Hisayoshi Chono was injured in 2017, and he crushed 5 homers with a .242/.287/.381 batting line in 99 games.
The Sakai native only played 17 games with a 5-for-26 record for the top team in 2018, and he hit .336/.412/.498 with 12 homers in the minors. He led the Eastern League in batting and on-base percentage, and he was 7th in hits (tied with Daisuke Togawa) and 7th in homers (tied with Hisanori Yasuda and Kazuya Katsuki). Ishikawa had a .257/.316/.457 batting line in 55 games for the top team in 2019, and he hit .244/.277/.400 in 43 games in 2020. He went 7-for-37 in 2021, and he was 8-for-29 in 2022. The Giants then traded him to the Chiba Lotte Marines for Kenta Onuma, and he played 44 games with a solid .348/.381/.455 batting line in 2023. Ishikawa slumped to .211/.237/.278 in 2024.
