Biographical Information

Kenta Onuma played for the Saitama Musashi Heat Bears from 2017 to 2018, and he moved to the Ibaraki Astro Planets from 2019 to 2020. He was drafted by the Chiba Lotte Marines in the 2nd round of the development phase in the 2020 NPB draft, and he notched 18 saves with a 2.86 ERA in 34 games in the NPB Farm Leagues. He led the Eastern League in saves. Onuma recorded a 6.04 ERA in 21 games for the big club in 2022, and his ERA was 9.00 in 4 games in 2023. The Marines then traded him to the Yomiuri Giants for Shingo Ishikawa, but he missed the entire 2024 season due to injuries and he announced his retirement.
