Biographical Information[edit]

Randy Hennis was a dominant pitcher during his brief time in the majors. He pitched 9 2/3 innings, giving up no runs and only one hit. His three appearances were at the end of the 1990 season with the Houston Astros. He was the same age as the team's 24-year-old catcher, Craig Biggio.

Hennis also pitched for the Tucson Toros in 1990 and 1991.

Hennis was at UCLA at the same time as Jeff Conine, Todd Zeile, and Eric Karros.

After his playing days he became a pitching coach for the GCL Marlins (1995), Brevard County Manatees (1996-1997), Charlotte Knights (1998), the Calgary Cannons (1999) [1] and Brevard County again in 2001. One source says he was on the bench when the Florida Marlins won the 2003 World Series.
