Providence College sponsored baseball from 1921 to 1999. The team was independent for many years, then competed in the ECAC in 1984 and Big East Conference from 1985 to 1999, when baseball was dropped. The other Friars teams still compete in the Big East. It is not to be confused with the University of Providence, which is located in Great Falls, MT.
