Biographical Information[edit]
Philipp Kleehaupt has pitched in the Bundesliga and for the German national team.
He debuted with the 2025 Gauting Indians, going 8-6 with a 3.70 ERA and 103 K in 92 1/3 IP; he also played a little right field and went 2-for-25 with 3 walks. [1] He was third in the Bundesliga-1 South in wins, behind import pitchers Christian Pedrol and Logan Hofmann. He was 1st in IP (5 1/3 ahead of Pedrol), tied for second in losses, tied Ryan Bollinger for second in complete games (2), first in starts (15), tied Hofmann for second in strikeouts (8 behind Bollinger) and 6th in WHIP (1.23, between Joe Cedano De Leon and Joel Petzold. In the 2025 U23 European Championship, he had a 6.30 ERA in two outings for Germany. [2] Making Germany's team for the 2025 European Championship, he made one appearance, doing an excellent job in the 5th/6th place game and getting the win over Great Britain's Chris Messer. Relieving Mark Harrison in the 4th with a 1-0 lead, the bases loaded and no outs, he got Will Cresswell to hit into a 5-2-3 double play, walked Michael Flaherty on four pitches and retired Kennard Dawson to escape that jam. He walked Cole Leclair to open the 5th but then struck out 2 of the next 3 batters; overall, he retired nine straight after that walk before Cesar Aquino closed it out. [3]
