Norm Gigon played 34 games for the Chicago Cubs in 1967. He appeared 17 times in the field, mostly at second base, where the Cubs' regular was Glenn Beckert and the other back-up was Paul Popovich.

Gigon was at Colby College in 1957 and 1958, one of only two major leaguers to come out of Colby during the period 1950-2000, with the other being Ed Phillips. Norm was in the minors from 1959 to 1967, hitting .306 for the Chattanooga Lookouts in 1961. As he aged, he developed more power, hitting 30 home runs for the Arkansas Travelers in 1964, where teammates included Fergie Jenkins and Alex Johnson. The previous year with Arkansas, Gigon had Dick Allen as a teammate.

He had one career home run. It came on April 23, 1967 against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The pitcher was Juan Pizarro.

Despite dying in 2013, news of his passing did not surface until three years later.
