Biographical Information[edit]

Mike Farrell pitched in the Milwaukee Brewers system from 1991 to 1996. Though he spent part or all of four seasons at Triple-A, he never ascended to the majors.

He went undrafted. He began his career with an 8-4 record and 2.21 ERA in 17 games (10 starts) split between the AZL Brewers, Helena Brewers and Beloit Snappers in 1991. In 1992, he went 15-10 with 8 complete games in 27 starts split between the Stockton Ports and El Paso Diablos. His was second in the Texas League with 5 complete games, one behind leader Rafael Novoa. He was the Brewers organization Pitcher of the Year that year and was named the team's #4 prospect going into 1993 by Baseball America, between Mark Kiefer and Troy O'Leary. He reached Triple-A for the first time in 1993, spending the whole season there. In 26 starts for the New Orleans Zephyrs, he went 9-9 with a 4.86 ERA.

Overall, he went 55-40 with a 3.90 ERA in 170 games (107 starts). In 778 1/3 innings, he allowed 816 hits and 182 walks (1.282 WHIP), while striking out 466 batters.

He scouted in the Brewers system for 16 years and later scouted for the Kansas City Royals, starting in 2013. He signed Eric Marzec and Matt Miller. In 2025, he became pitching coach at Saint Louis University.

In 1989, he made the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament All-Tournament Team while in college.
