Biographical Information

Masayoshi Moriyama hit .300 with 4 Best Nine awards in his college career, and he was drafted by the Hanshin Tigers in the 2n round of the 1972 NPB draft. He was placed in the minors in his first two seasons, and the Tigers traded him with Osamu Uetsuji, Seiichi Ogawa, Hideo Hirayama and Kiyotake Suzuki to the Lotte Orions for Keiichi Inoue and Takenori Ikebe. Moriyama only got 17 at-bats combined before he announced his retirement in 1979, and he didn't get a single hit in his entire career. He later became the coach for Meiji Gakuin University in 2005.
