Biographical Information[edit]

Kentaro Inomoto played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 4 years.

Inomoto was drafted by the Softbank Hawks in the 4th round of the development phase in the 2008 NPB draft, and he stayed in the NPB Farm Leagues in his first five seasons. He hit .300/.391/.557 with 17 homers in the minors in 2014, and he led the Western League in homers. He was also 2nd in RBI (6 behind Masayoshi Tsukada) and 5th in batting (between Nobumasa Fukuda and Shuhei Takahashi). Inomoto made his NPB debut on July 29, 2014, and he got a hit against Kohei Hasebe. He then went 0-for-2 with the big club in 2015, and he hit .292/.352/.519 with 16 homers in the minors. Inomoto was 2nd in homers (2 behind Bárbaro Cañizares), 2nd in RBI (3 behind Cañizares) and 3rd in batting (between Cañizares and Masahiro Nakatani). He again shined in the minors in 2016, and he hit .305/.370/.480 with 11 homers. Inomoto was 4th in homers (tied with Tomoaki Egawa), 4th in RBI (tied with Cañizares) and 2nd in batting (.00005 behind Tsukada). However, he was 0-for-8 with the top team, and he was released. The Chiba Lotte Marines signed him, and Inomoto was 2-for-14 in 2017 then he announced his retirement.
