Biographical Information

Kazuyuki Takemaru has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Takemaru was drafted by the Yomiuri Giants in the first round of the 2025 NPB draft; the scout was Masao Morinaka. He was named Yomiuri's opening day starter, and it was the first time that two rookies were named opening day starters in the draft era (the other was Kaito Mouri of the Chiba Lotte Marines). Takemaru made his NPB debut on March 27, 2026 against the Hanshin Tigers, and he got his first strikeout against Ryuhei Obata. He got his first win as he only allowed one run in 6 innings, and he was the first Yomiuri rookie to get a win on opening day.
