Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Justin Jarvis began his professional career in 2018 and reached Triple-A for the first time in 2023.
He was taken by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 5th round of the 2018 amateur draft, between pitchers Cole Sands and Jake Bird, and began his professional career that year. He was signed by scout Taylor Frederick. He went a combined 5-3 his first two campaigns, then didn't pitch in 2020 due to the coronavirus epidemic. Despite going 1-7 for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers during the 2021 regular season, Jarvis earned a spot in the fairly exclusive Arizona Fall League, going 2-1 with a 5.60 ERA in 7 games (5 starts) for the Salt River Rafters. In 2022, he went 11-9 with a 3.83 ERA in 28 starts between the Timber Rattlers and Biloxi Shuckers; in 141 innings, he had 150 strikeouts. He spent most of the year with Wisconsin and tied Adrian Alcantara for the Midwest League lead in home runs allowed with 19. He also tied Carlos Guzman and M.D. Johnson for second in the circuit with 9 wins, behind Emilio Marquez's 10.
In 2023, he went 6-11 with a 5.31 ERA in 26 starts between three clubs, including two Triple-A clubs. With the Brewers squad, the Nashville Sounds, he was 0-2 with a 10.80 ERA in 3 starts. On July 31, he was traded to the New York Mets for outfielder Mark Canha. With New York's club, the Syracuse Mets, he went 0-5 with an 8.04 mark in 9 starts. Despite his underwhelming performance, he had 138 Ks in 118 2/3 frames on the year as a whole. He remained in the Mets chain through 2024, then spent 2025 in the Los Angeles Dodgers system. He began 2026 with the independent High Point Rockers of the Atlantic League.
