Biographical Information[edit]

Reliever Joe Dvorsky pitched in the Chicago White Sox system from 2011 to 2013, peaking at High-A. He was taken in the 35th round of the 2011 amateur draft, a couple picks ahead of pitcher Cy Sneed. He was signed by scout Keith Staab.

In his first year, he went 4-0 with a 2.93 ERA in 18 games for the Great Falls Voyagers, striking out 32 in 27 2/3 innings. In 2012, he went 2-1 with a 2.08 ERA in 22 games Great Falls, again striking out more than a batter per inning, on average. He tied Cory Hall for the second-most games finished in Pioneer League that year with 21, behind Scott Oberg's 22. In 2013, between the Kannapolis Intimidators and Winston-Salem Dash, he was 2-6 with a 2.72 ERA in 35 games.

Overall, he went 8-7 with a 2.58 ERA in 75 games. In 115 1/3 innings, he allowed 108 hits and 24 walks (1.145 WHIP), while striking out 118 batters.

On August 18, 2011, he was the final pitcher of a combined no-hitter against the Casper Ghosts. Scott Snodgress started it and was relieved by Blake Drake.
