Biographical Information[edit]
Jamie Lopiccolo hit .388/.503/.592 in 70 games for the independent Ogden Raptors in 1995, scoring 74 times and drawing 55 walks. He led the Pioneer League in average (.016 ahead of Sean Watkins), OBP (.023 ahead of Watkins) and hits (101, 7 ahead of Mike Kinkade). He was second to Watkins in slugging (by .027) and OPS (by 5), second in runs (two behind Kinkade), second in homers (12, one behind Watkins), 7th in RBI (55, between Christian Rojas and Andy Barkett) and tied Rick Gama for second in walks. He joined Rojas and Manuel González as the All-Star outfielders and won the MVP. [1]
Following that campaign, he signed with the Milwaukee Brewers. He then recorded a .263/.353/.378 batting line for the Beloit Snappers in 1996, and he improved to .332/.397/.537 with 17 homers there in 1997. He tied Antuan Bunkley for third among Brewers farmhands in dingers and was 5th with 80 RBI (between Danny Klassen and Toby Kominek). In the Midwest League, he was third in average (behind Robert Fick and Tony Miranda), second in slugging (.029 shy of Fick), 2nd in OPS (60 behind Fick), tied Rob Sasser for 10th in home runs and tied Dernell Stenson and Jake Patterson for 6th in RBI. He hit .291/.331/.459 with 12 homers for the Lakeland Tigers in 1998,
He joined the independent Schaumburg Flyers in 1999. He had a .332/.377/.542 batting line in 86 games, finishing 5th in slugging, tied Keith Habbig for second in doubles (28), was 10th in HR (15) and led in RBI (78, 8 ahead of Chris Vasquez). He represented Team USA in the 1999 Intercontinental Cup, hitting .250/.294/.250 while splitting DH with Bo Durkac. [2] He only played 4 games in 2000, and his professional career ended. He had produced at a .316/.385/.496 clip as a pro with 347 RBI in 474 games.
