Biographical Information[edit]

James Street was 29-8 as a pitcher in college for the University of Texas, throwing a perfect game against Texas Tech in 1970 and going to the College World Series three times, in 1968, 1969 and 1970. He was a teammate of future major leaguers Burt Hooton and Larry Hardy, among others. He was also a quarterback for Texas, leading them to an unbeaten season and a national championship in 1969.

The Cleveland Indians took him in the 31st round of the 1970 amateur draft but he never played professionally. His son Huston Street made the majors while another son, Juston Street played in the minors.
