Biographical Information[edit]
Hidetsugu Nishimura was drafted by the Chunichi Dragons in the 3rd round of the 1986 NPB draft, and he pitched 4 games with a 9.00 ERA in 1987. He then went 11-3 with a 3.34 ERA for the Vero Beach Dodgers in 1988. His 124 strikeouts tied Cliff Brantley and Kip Gross for 5th in the Florida State League. He was dealt with Koichi Emoto to the Daiei Hawks for Hiromichi Nakamura and Takayuki Shirai. Nishimura's ERA was 5.09 in 9 games in 1989, and he recorded a 7.27 ERA in 7 appearances in 1991. He didn't reach the big club in 1992, and he announced his retirement.
