Biographical Information[edit]

Center fielder Enrique Bradfield Jr. was the 17th overall pick of the 2023 amateur draft, taken by the Baltimore Orioles out of Vanderbilt University. He was already quite accomplished by this time, having played for the USA College National Team that represented the U.S. at the 2022 Haarlem Baseball Week (batting .190/.370/.381, tying Vito Friscia and Kenta Yamada for 3rd with 5 walks), after hitting .336 and .317 in his first two seasons at Vanderbilt, appearing in the 2021 College World Series. He had not hit so well in his final season, in 2023, finishing at .279 with 6 homers and 34 RBIs in 62 games.

After signing with the Orioles, he started his pro career in 2023 and appeared with three different teams - the FCL Orioles, the Delmarva Shorebirds and the Aberdeen Iron Birds. Overall in 25 games, he hit .291 with no homers and 6 RBIs, but displayed tremendous speed with 22 runs and 25 stolen bases (with just 2 times caught stealing). In 2024, he played 81 games in the South Atlantic League with Aberdeen and another 27 with the Bowie BaySox of the AA Eastern League. His slash line was .272/.358/.371 with 4 homers and 35 RBIs. He scored 88 runs and stole 74 bases and also won a minor league Gold Glove.

In 2025, he continued to move up the ranks, even though an injury limited him to 76 games, with rehabilitation assignments in the Florida Complex League and with Aberdeen. The bulk of his season was in AA, though, with the re-named Chesapeake Baysox, and he also reached AAA for the first time with 15 games for the Norfolk Tides of the International League. He hit .242/.348/.348, scored 49 runs and stole 36 bases in 40 attempts. He played in the 2025 Futures Game and after the season played in the Arizona Fall League, where he played in the Rising Stars Game and was named the circuit's defensive player of the year.

Prior to the 2026 season, he was named to the roster of the Panamanian national team for the 2026 World Baseball Classic.
