Biographical Information[edit]
Cristian Fermín has been on the Venezuelan national team.
He was 2-0 with a 5.25 ERA in four outings in the 2024 U-23 Baseball World Cup, beating the Netherlands' Jiorgeny Casimiri and South Africa's Josh Tribe. He tied for 4th in games pitched and was one win behind leader Hyun-suk Choi. [1] At the 2025 Bolivarian Games, he allowed a walk, no hits and one unearned run in 2 2/3 IP, fanning four; he got the win over Curaçao's Cedeon Langguth (saved by Nomar Rojas) but lost to Peru with a spot in the Gold Medal Game at stake. Relieving Rojas in extra innings with two starting runners aboard due to the extra innings rule, he got Daniel Liu to hit into a force to put men on the corners then intentionally walked Rider Zevallos. That move did not pay off when he plunked Alonso Tenya to force in the losing run; Ken Ishihara got the win over him. Venezuela got Bronze. Only Jorge Sivirichi made more appearances in the Games.
