Biographical Information[edit]
Infielder Charles McAdoo was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 13th round of the 2023 amateur draft out of San Jose State University. He was mainly a second baseman in college, but played mostly third base after turning pro.
He played in the Pirates' system in 2023 and 2024, reaching AA after just 88 games. He was hitting .269 in 27 games for the Altoona Curve when he was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays on July 30, 2024 in return for IF Isiah Kiner-Falefa. He finished that season with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, batting .185 in 37 games. In 2025, he spent a full season at New Hampshire and in 121 games, his slash line was .247/.318/.413 with 16 homers and 45 RBIs.
He started the 2026 season with the AAA Buffalo Bisons. He was hitting .250 after 50 games when he got the call to Toronto on May 29th, replacing IF Lenyn Sosa who was placed on the injured list. He started at second base against the Baltimore Orioles that same day. He went 1 for 4 with a two-run homer off Trevor Rogers in a 6-5 win by the Blue Jays.
He is a distant cousin of basketball all-time great Bob McAdoo.
