Biographical Information

Akinori Masuda was drafted by the Yomiuri Giants in the 5th round of the 1987 NPB draft, and he pitched 1/3 of an inning with a run allowed in 1988. He had a 1.93 ERA in 3 games in 1989, but he never reached the big club again before he announced his retirement in 1991. He later became a scout for the Giants from 1992 to 2018, signing Koji Uehara, Seishu Hatake, Toshiki Sakurai, Hosei Takata and Yukinori Kishida. He was named the new coach of Aichi Gakuin University in 2019.
