Biographical Information

Yukinori Kishida has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Kishida represented Japan in the 2014 BFA U-18 Baseball Championship, and he played for Osaka Gas in the industrial leagues after high school. The Yomiuri Giants selected him in the 2nd round of the 2017 NPB draft; the scout was Akinori Masuda. Kishida was 0-for-7 in 2019, and he hit .302/.340/.442 in 34 games in 2020. Since the Giants already had star catchers Seiji Kobayashi and Takumi Ohshiro, Kishida couldn't get many chances. He was 4-for-22 in 2021, and he hit .257/.316/.257 in 25 games in 2022. Kishida then played 46 games with a .250/.282/.368 batting line in 2023, and he shared the starting catcher spot with Ohshiro in 2024; he recorded a .242/.287/.331 batting line in 88 games. He led Central League backstops with 77 assists and a 47.5% caught stealing rate.
