Biographical Information[edit]

Seishu Hatake has pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Hatake was drafted by the Yomiuri Giants in the 2nd round of the 2016 NPB draft; the scout was Akinori Masuda. He was 6-4 with a 2.99 ERA in 2017, then he notched 3 holds with a 2.79 ERA in 9 games in 2018. Hatake struggled in 2019 as his ERA was 6.89 in 5 games, and he went 4-4 with a 2.88 ERA in 2020. He started in the 2020 Nippon Series Game 4, but he surrendered 4 runs in 1 2/3 innings and Yuki Matsumoto got the win over him. The Softbank Hawks swept the Giants.

The Kure native was turned into a reliever in 2021, and he notched 11 holds with a 3.07 ERA in 52 appearances. Hatake had a 3.14 ERA in 27 games with 5 holds in 2022, but he only pitched one game combined in the next two seasons due to right elbow injury. The Hanshin Tigers selected him in the 2024 NPB Active draft.
