Ah-seop Son hit .300 in 2010 and 2011.

Son debuted in the Korea Baseball Organization in 2007, going 1 for 6 for the Lotte Giants. He hit .303/.387/.404 as a part-timer in 2008 but slumped to .186/.263/.337 in 34 games in 2009. The Busan native batted .306/.377/.438 as a starter in 2010. He finished 12th in average (between Jung-kwon Park and Keun-woo Jeong) and 5th in runs (85). In 2011, he was even better at .326/.385/.507 with 15 homers. He finished among the league leaders in average (5th, between Yong-kyu Lee and Chi-hong An), runs (5th, 79, between Hyung-woo Choi and Han-lee Park), RBI (6th, between Jin-haeng Choi and Bum-ho Lee), hits (7th, between Hyun-soo Kim and Sung-heon Hong), doubles (25, tied for 5th with Hyun-soo Kim, Jung Choi and Min-ho Kang) and triples (5, tied for 3rd with Jong-wook Lee, Dae-hyung Lee and Jun-woo Jeon). He won a Gold Glove, which in Korea goes for overall play, not just defense; he was named as the top right fielder, joining Yong-kyu Lee (CF) and Hyung-woo Choi (LF) as the outfielders picked.
