The 2006 Chinese Professional Baseball League season was won by the La New Bears, who won their first Taiwan Series in a sweep of the Uni-President Lions. It was little surprise, as the Bears had won both halves of the regular season.

Awards[edit]

The CPBL MVP was En-Yu Lin of the Macoto Cobras, who set a new league strikeout record (209), tied for the most wins (17) and led in ERA (1.73) to claim a pitching Triple Crown. He would leave for Japan the next year. The Rookie of the Year was outfielder Kuan-Jen Chen of the Elephants, who won the batting title at .369.
