The 2004 Chinese Professional Baseball League season was won by the Sinon Bulls, who took their first Taiwan Series title, upending the regular-season champion Uni-President Lions. Ying-Chieh Lin set a new strikeout record, with 203, while Cheng-Ming Peng was at .400 later than anyone had been before (70 games in).

Awards[edit]

The CPBL MVP was Lions reliever Mike Garcia, who was 7-1 with 26 saves and a 0.71 ERA. He had also won the MVP 7 years earlier, becoming the first (and through 2012, only) foreigner to win multiple CPBL MVP honors. The Rookie of the Year was Lions infielder Chih-Wei Shih, who won a Gold Glove and set a rookie record (since broken) of 117 hits.
