The 1999 Pirates started three players named Brown on September 29 - CF Adrian Brown, LF Emil Brown and 1B Brant Brown. It would be almost 8 years until another major league team started three players with the same surname, when the 2007 Braves did so on September 16 with three players named Jones. The 2001 Pirates had three Wilsons (Craig, Jack and Enrique at the same time, but they never started in the same game.
