1979 National Baseball Congress World Series
The 1979 National Baseball Congress World Series was won by the Liberal BeeJays as they beat the Santa Maria Indians 9-2 in the final. They went unbeaten through the tournament. Craig McMurtry pitched a complete game for the win. The BeeJays were managed by Bob Cerv and featured future major leaguer Dan Firova. Liberal shortstop Gary D'Onofrio of Oral Roberts University was named MVP.
