1987 National Baseball Congress World Series
The 1987 National Baseball Congress World Series was won for the first time by the Mat-Su Miners. The Alaska Baseball League Miners beat the Wichita Broncos 11-8 in the final, played at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium in Wichita, KS.
Both finalists were making their first appearance in the championship game, this last happened in 1966 when Boulder beat West Point.
World Series MVP was Mat-Su first baseman Ken Kremer of Rider University.
