After a decade without professional baseball in Springfield, OH the situation was resolved in 1928 with the Springfield Buckeyes of the Central League. The Buckeyes went 67-66. OF Curtin (.347/~.407/.579) led the team in average while SS Mike Noonan (.325/~.386/.618) led in homers (21) and led the CL in triples (17). G. Miller (6-6, 3.14) led in ERA while Rudy Kneisch (15-10, 3.70) won the most games. In 1929 the Springfield Central League team was the Springfield Dunnmen.
