Biographical Information[edit]

Yuya Ogoh has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Ogoh won two best nine awards with a .308 batting average in his college career. He was drafted by the Rakuten Golden Eagles in the 7th round of the 2018 NPB draft; the scout was Yoshinori Okihara. He got his first hit against Yuya Yanagi on June 7, and he crushed his first career homer on September 3 against Rei Takahashi. He and Ryosuke Tatsumi was the second pair of drafted rookies to hit back-to-back homers, following Yasuaki Taiho and Koji Yamaguchi in 1989. Ogoh ended up hitting .172/.273/.345 in his rookie year, and he improved to .295/.405/.438 in 58 games in 2020. However, Ogoh slumped to .182/.259/.325 in 2021, and he only got 3 hits in 18 at-bats in 2022.

The Okayama native came back in 2023, and he hit .262/.321/.395 with 13 steals. Ogoh was one of two players who got 10 homers and 10 steals in NPB (the other was Shuta Tonosaki), and he was 6th in triples in the Pacific League (3 behind Hiroto Kobukata) and 8th in steals (tied with Tsuyoshi Yamasaki and Tatsumi). Ogoh broke out in 2024, and he collected 32 steals with a .257/.337/.358 batting line. He was 2nd in hits (13 behind Tatsumi), 4th in triples (6 behind Tatsumi) and 2nd in steals (9 behind Ukyo Shuto).
