Biographical Information[edit]

Infielder Warming Bernabel was called up by the Colorado Rockies to make his major league debut on July 26, 2025, to take the roster spot of Ryan McMahon who had just been traded to the New York Yankees. He started at first base that day against the Baltimore Orioles and managed to get one hit in three at-bats while finishing the game at third base, McMahon's former position and the one that he had mostly played in the minors. That was the good news. The bad news was that his hit off reliever Kade Strowd in the 9th inning was one of only two on the day for the Rox who suffered one of the worst defeats in team history, 18-0.

The Rockies signed Warming as an international amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic on July 2, 2018, so it took him a while to make the Show. After making his professional debut in 2019, he had to sit out the 2020 season when the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the minor leagues, but was an organizational All-Star in 2022 when he hit .313/.370/.499 in 91 games between the Fresno Grizzlies and the Spokane Indians. However, he slumped to .223 in 83 games for the Hartford Yard Goats in 2023, and had to repeat the level the following season. He started 2025 with the Albuquerque Isotopes in the Pacific Coast League, his first time playing in AAA, and was hitting .301 in 75 games with 8 homers and 45 RBIs at the time of his call-up to Denver.
