Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Tyler Bremner was selected by the Los Angeles Angels with the second pick of the 2025 amateur draft, out of the University of California, Santa Barbara. The pick was considered a huge surprise, as while it was assumed that the Angels would go for a college pitcher, the two favorites to be taken with that pick were Kade Anderson and Liam Doyle, who were both in contention for the first overall pick. In contrast, Bremner had gone just 5-4, 3.49 in his junior season at UCSB, although he had finished strong, and the year before he had gone 11-1, 2.54 as a sophomore. He was expected to sign for a bonus below slot level and to be brought to the majors in quick time, as the Angels were known to do with their top draft selections. He was drafted only a month after his mother, Jennifer, passed away after a five-year battle with breast cancer.

After signing with the Angels, he did not pitch in the minor leagues in 2025.
