Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Kade Anderson was named the winner of the College World Series Most Outstanding Player Award after leading Louisiana State University to the title in the 2025 College World Series. The highlight of his tournament was pitching a shutout against Coastal Carolina University in the first game of the tournament finals.

In two seasons with the LSU Tigers, he went 4-2, 3.99 as a swingman in 2024, and 12-1, 3.18 as the team's top starting pitcher in 2025. He was eligible for the 2025 amateur draft and was widely expected to selected with one of the top three picks. He was voted the #2 high school player in Louisiana in 2023 before heading to college. He ended up being picked third overall by the Seattle Mariners after the Los Angeles Angels, picking before them, selected another college pitcher, the much less-heralded Tyler Bremner, second overall. He came to terms immediately with the Mariners, agreeing to a signing bonus of $8.8 million hours after being drafted. He was expected to be put on an accelerated path to the majors.
