Biographical Information[edit]

Middle infielder Troy Paulsen played in the Philadelphia Phillies system from 1990 to 1992, peaking at Double-A.

He was drafted twice. Initially, he was taken by the New York Yankees in the 28th round of the 1986 amateur draft, one pick ahead of pitcher Darren Hall, but opted not to sign. He inked a contract after being taken by the Phillies in the 39th round of the 1990 amateur draft, a couple picks after infielder Jason Wood. He hit .198/.266/.216 with no home runs and 9 RBI in 54 games for the Clearwater Phillies his first campaign, then .288/.337/.356 with 1 homer and 47 RBI in 122 games for Clearwater in 1991. In 1992, his final campaign, he hit .234/.263/.330 with 1 homer and 7 RBI in 22 games for the Reading Phillies.

Overall, he hit .259/.311/.319 with 2 homers and 63 RBI in 198 games.

He made the All-Tournament Team in the 1990 College World Series.
