Biographical Information[edit]
Tom McGuire made an impressive professional debut as a 21-year-old with the Chicago team of the Federal League in 1913, leading the new circuit in Wins, IP and Strikeouts. The following year, McGuire made twelve starts and twelve relief appearances for the major league Chicago Chi-Feds team, collecting a complete game win over the Kansas City Packers on April 18th, in his first game of the season. McGuire played just one more major league game after that season, appearing for the Chicago White Sox on August 9, 1919 against the Washington Senators and Walter Johnson, and yielding a single and RBI triple to Washington's ace pitcher.
