• 1987 - Braudilio Vinent retires from play in the Cuban National League. He won 221 games with 2,134 strikeouts in his twenty-year career.
• 2015 - Pinar del Río becomes the first Cuban team to win a Caribbean Series in 55 years when they win the 2015 Caribbean Series; Frederich Cepeda is named Caribbean Series MVP.
