Biographical Information[edit]

Takumi Miyoshi played in Nippon Pro Baseball for years.

Moyoshi was drafted by the Rakuten Golden Eagles in the 3rd round of the 2011 NPB draft, and he only got 11 at-bats combined for the big club in his first three seasons. He crushed 13 homers with a .242/.305/.392 batting line in the NPB Farm leagues in 2014, and he was 3rd in homers (tied with Keiyo Aomatsu) and 3rd in RBI (between Hotaka Yamakawa and Ikuhiro Kiyota) in the Eastern League. He also represented Japan in the 2014 U-21 Baseball World Cup; playing third regularly, he hit .227/.292/.318 but with 8 runs in 7 games, handling 10 chances error-free. He tied for 10th in runs.

The Fukuoka native was 6-for-29 in 2015, and he played 38 games with a .222/.279/.365 batting line in 2016. He also played for Japan in the 2016 U-23 Baseball World Cup, batting .308/.394/.500 and handled 34 chances at second without a miscue. He led the tourney with 29 assists. Miyoshi recorded a .243/.288/.359 batting line in 2017, but he then slumped to .104/.157/.146 in 2018; he only got 48 at-bats that season. He was 1-for-4 with Rakuten in 2019, and he was traded to the Hiroshima Carp for Ko Shimozuru. Miyoshi played 43 games with a .182/.267/.273 batting line in the rest of the season, and he hit .125/.185/.125 in 62 games in 2020. He went 1-for-11 in 64 games in 2021, but he only played 10 more games for the big club before he announced his retirement in 2023. He became the fielding coach for the Carp in 2024.

Overall, Miyoshi hit .188/.244/.282 with 70 hits in 10 seasons in NPB.
