Biographical Information[edit]

Keiyo Aomatsu played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 4 years.

Aomatsu was drafted by the Chiba Lotte Marines in the 7th round of the 2004 NPB draft, and he only played one game for the big club in his first eight seasons. He also hit .220/.291/.380 in 16 games for the North Shore Honu in 2006. Aomatsu was 5-for-16 for the big club in 2013, and he went 1-for-5 in 2014. He hit .319/.371/.503 with 13 homers in the NPB Farm Leagues, and he led the Eastern League with 116 hits and 69 RBI. He also ranked 6th in batting (between Hotaka Yamakawa and Hyuma Matsui), 2nd in doubles (1 behind Matsui) and 3rd in homers (tied with Takumi Miyoshi). Aomatsu again dominated the minors in 2015, and he crushed 15 homers with a .298/.413/.522 batting line. He led the minors in batting, OBP, slugging and homers, but he was 3-for-20 with the top team. Aomatsu stayed in the minors for the entire 2016 season, and he announced his retirement.
