Biographical Information

Takato Ihara has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Ihara went 15-1 with a 0.91 ERA in his college career, and he was drafted by the Hanshin Tigers in the first round of the 2024 NPB draft after losing the lottery for the rights to Yumeto Kanemaru; the scout was Terumitsu Kumano. He joined the rotation as a rookie, and he was 5-7 with a 2.29 ERA in his rookie year. Ihara relieved Yuta Iwasada in the 3rd inning of the 2025 Nippon Series Game 2, and he completed 2 1/3 innings with only a run allowed due to Ukyo Shuto's RBI single. The Tigers lost to the Softbank Hawks in 5 games.
