Biographical Information[edit]

Relief pitcher T.J. Chism has played in the New York Mets system since 2009 (through 2014). He was taken by the club in the 32nd round of the 2009 amateur draft.

After a ho-hum rookie season, Chism posted a 0.70 ERA in 23 appearances for the Kingsport Mets and Brooklyn Cyclones in 2010, and followed that with a 1.14 ERA in 27 appearances for the Cyclones. He was named to the New York-Penn League Mid-Season All-Star team that year. In 2012, he was 4-2 with 19 saves and a 2.34 ERA in 45 appearances for the Savannah Sand Gnats, earning a spot on the South Atlantic League Mid-Season All-Star squad, and in 2013 he was 1-4 with 20 saves and a 2.21 ERA in 47 appearances for the St. Lucie Mets. In 2014, he went 1-4 with a 5.68 ERA in 40 appearances between St. Lucie and the Binghamton Mets.

He is the son of Tom Chism.
