Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Stephen Gaylor played baseball at Berry College for three years and graduated in 2014 with a degree in Exercise Science. He joined the Atlanta Braves organization and played in their minor league system from 2014 to 2017. Gaylor played at every minor league level with the Braves from rookie ball to Triple-A. Overall, he hit .261/.339/.315 while appearing in 249 games. Gaylor completed his playing career in 2018 with the Capitales de Québec in the independent Canadian-American Association.

After retiring, the New York Mets hired Gaylor as the 2019 Kingsport Mets development coach. He only stayed there for one season.

Gaylor moved away from baseball as his primary career and became a math & science teacher. He started at Ringgold Middle School where he also did some coaching[1]. In the 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 academic years he taught and coached baseball at Heritage High School. In 2023, he took a job teaching at Calhoun Middle School and coached baseball at Calhoun (GA) High School during the 2024 season.[2] It is unknown if coached the Yellow Jackets in future years. As of 2025, Gaylor continued to teach at Calhoun Middle School and served as a softball coach there.[3]
