Biographical Information

Shingo Usami has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Usami represented Japan in the 2015 Universiade. He was drafted by the Yomiuri Giants in the 4th round of the 2015 NPB draft, and he went 14-for-40 in 2017 after spending a year in the NPB Farm Leagues. He was 5-for-48 in 2018, but he only played 3 games in 2019 before the Giants traded him with Mitsuo Yoshikawa to the Nippon Ham Fighters for Yohei Kagiya and Takahiro Fujioka in June. Usami's batting line was .198/.245/.229 in 45 games in the rest of the season, and he played 80 games with a .178/.213/.237 batting line in 2020. He had a 5-for-43 record in 2021, and he improved to .256/.296/.372 in 81 games in 2022. However, Usami went 0-for-15 in 2023, and he was traded with Koki Saito to the Chunichi Dragons for Takumi Yamamoto and Yuya Gunji. Usami had a .282/.339/.354 batting line in the rest of the season, and he hit .303/.337/.414 with 3 homers in 61 games in 2024.
