Biographical Information[edit]
Scott McDougall worked one American League game was a replacement umpire on Opening Day in 1991. The regular umpires had gone on strike during spring training, and while the dispute had been resolved just as the season was about to start, it was not done in time for the umpires to reach their first assignment of the season. As a result, amateur umpires such as McDougall were used for one game. He worked second base at Memorial Stadium in a game between the Chicago White Sox and the Baltimore Orioles.
