Biographical Information

Pitcher Ryan Bruno was taken by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 7th round of the 2023 amateur draft out of Stanford University where he appeared in the College World Series in 2022 and 2023 and played for the USA College National Team. He was assigned to the ACL Diamondbacks Black in 2023, but never played for them, and he began 2024 on the 60-day injured list and did not pitch that season either.

He finally made it to a professional mound on May 27, 2025, with the ACL Diamondbacks. He made 4 relief appearances totaling 4 2/3 innings before being promoted to the Visalia Rawhide of the California League. He pitched another 20 games there, all in relief, putting up an ERA of 3.66 in 32 innings. Command was a real issue, as while he struck out 42 batters, he also walked 28. He then started the 2026 season on the injured list with Visalia and in early May was transferred to the 60-day injured list, not at all a good sign for a pitcher with his history of injuries.

His twin brother Jaden also played at Stanford but never turned pro.
