Biographical Information[edit]

Roger Williams peaked at AAA. He was on Team USA.

Williams represented the USA in the 1984 Amateur World Series. The Chicago Cubs picked him in the 4th round of the 1985 Amateur Draft, and he was 8-4 with a 2.86 ERA for the Geneva Cubs in 1985. He had a 12-7 record with a 3.28 ERA for the Winston-Salem Spirits in 1986, and he went 13-8 with a 4.46 ERA for the Pittsfield Cubs in 1987. Williams was 10-9 with a 4.20 ERA for the AAA Iowa Cubs in 1988, and he slumped to 2-5 with a 6.21 ERA in Iowa in 1989. He also pitched 6 games with a 6.53 ERA for the Charlotte Knights that season, then he went to the Pittsburgh Pirates system. Williams allowed 18 runs in 14 2/3 innings for the Salem Buccaneers in 1990, and he announced his retirement.
