Biographical Information[edit]

Rodney Peete was drafted in the 30th round of the 1984 amateur draft as a shortstop by the Toronto Blue Jays. He was then taken in the 14th round of the 1988 amateur draft by the Oakland A's as a third baseman, but did not sign. He was offered a $100,000 deal and payment for his final year of college, but he did not sign. Peete was then drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 13th round of the 1989 amateur draft and the Detroit Tigers in the 28th round of the 1990 amateur draft. He went on to a 15-year career in the National Football League as a quarterback.
